Top 10 Counties with Best and Worst Performing Air Transportation Economies of 2014: Orange County-FL / Orlando Creates the Most Air Transportation Jobs; Dallas County-TX / Dallas Loses the Most
Recently released data show that air transportation job creation in 2014 across counties in the US varied from a high of 1,400 in Orange County-FL (Orlando) to a loss of 4,000 jobs in Dallas County-TX (Dallas).
Out of more than 220 counties with air transportation economies, the Top 5 job creators also included Hennepin County-MN (Minneapolis), Miami-Dade County-FL (Miami), Clayton County-GA (Atlanta), and Broward County-FL (Ft. Lauderdale).
Air transportation job losses were led by Dallas County-TX (Dallas), Harris County-TX (Houston), Shelby County-TN (Memphis), San Bernardino County-CA (Riverside), and Cuyahoga County-OH (Cleveland).
Job creation in the Air Transportation sector in the US has been in steady decline. In the last 5 years, the sector declined 4% and shed 16,000 new jobs. The sector currently employs 445,000 people in the US.
