Fastest Growing Millennial Populations in Mid-sized Metros are Lakeland-FL, Cape Coral-FL, and Deltona-FL

Recently released data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows which mid-sized metros have the fastest growing Millennial populations. Growth is measured by the 5-year percentage change in population (25-34 years old) between 2012 and 2017. Headlight Data ranks population growth for the 54 mid-sized metros (500k up to 1M people) in the U.S.

In the past five years, the U.S. Millennial population grew 7.2%. Among mid-sized metros, the highest growth is found in Lakeland, FL (19.8%), Cape Coral, FL (18.8%) and Deltona, FL (18.3%). Other mid-sized metros with rapid growth are Palm Bay, FL; Colorado Springs, CO; and Spokane, WA.

The mid-sized metros with the lowest Millennial growth are Jackson, MS (-1.1%), Bridgeport, CT (-0.6%), and Little Rock, AR (1.3%).
