09 Aug 2017 Top 10 Counties with Best and Worst Transportation Equipment Manufacturing Economies of 2016: Jefferson, McLennan, Elkhart Counties Create Most Transportation Equipment Manufacturing Jobs; King, Erie, Los Angeles Counties Lose Most
Recently released data show that Transportation Equipment Manufacturing job creation in 2016 across counties in the US varied from a high of 3,300 in Jefferson County, KY to a loss of 2,900 jobs in King County, WA.
Out of more than 650 counties with Transportation Equipment Manufacturing economies, the Top 5 job creators also included McLennan County-TX (2,200), Elkhart County-IN (1,300), Tippecanoe County-IN (1,200), and Ingham County, MI (1,100).
Transportation equipment manufacturing job losses were also led by Erie County-PA (-1,700), Los Angeles County-CA (-1,700), McLean County-IL (-1,200) and Gaston County-NC (-1,000).
Overall in the U.S., the Transportation Equipment Manufacturing Sector created 17,300 net new jobs in 2016.
