Recently released data show that truck transportation job creation in 2015 across counties in the US varied from a high of 2,000 in Dallas County (Dallas, TX) to a loss of 820 jobs in Sacramento County (Sacramento, CA).

Out of more than 2,380 counties with truck transportation economies, the Top 5 job creators also included Tarrant County (Dallas, TX), Cook County (Chicago, IL), Salt Lake County (Salt Lake City, UT), and Spartanburg County (Spartanburg, SC).

Truck transportation job losses were led by Sacramento County (Sacramento, CA), Burlington County (Philadelphia, PA), Stanislaus County (Modesto, CA), Williams County (Williston, ND), and Parker County (Dallas, TX).

Job creation in the truck transportation sector in the US has been steadily increasing since the recession. In the last 5 years, the sector grew 13% and created 160,000 new jobs. The sector currently employs 1.4 million people in the US.
